2013 MENCAP Commission
Created a triptych as a lasting memory to celebrate 60 years of Watford MENCAP. First piece captures the history, second the celebration of 2011 and the third was created in a workshop with the help of MENCAP family and friends which consisted of butterflies each containing handwritten text of personal hopes and dreams for the future.
2013 Olympic Legacy
The Olympic Project really appealed to Sian as it was such an exciting event and deserved a fitting legacy. Sian’s proposal was selected to recycle the Olympic banners into fitting artwork, to plan and facilitate a workshop. The banners were cut and woven together to create a large nest representative of the coming together of a community. The nest housed and protected five egg like hoops signifying the Olympic rings. The outcome of the project was used as a case study by the Olympic committee.
