“I am inspired by vintage suitcases overflowing with memories, keepsakes, ephemera and heirlooms. Sewing boxes filled to the brim with old haberdashery, family albums of sepia photographs and a nostalgic childhood of nursery rhymes and storybooks,  are just a few of my favourite things. In fact anything embellished with a vintage gorgeousness from days past”

Sian is interested in the way that small fragments of lace, colour or image can evoke nostalgic memories. By visiting vintage fairs and junk shops to collect her ‘treasures’ she gathers inspirations from the intriguing discarded fragments that offer a secret past

‘I stitch, collage, journal and create mixed media using my vintage haberdasheries and nostalgic ephemera. I also teach, tutor and facilitate workshops, commissions, exhibitions and I participate yearly in Open Studio trails. You can join me for fun creative days and courses too both at my home studio and further afield
